Draw announced for Adelaide

07 Mar 2007

The Australian leg represents a second exciting addition to the series this year, after the San Diego event in February, and will be played at the Adelaide Oval on 7-8 April 2007.

Fiji and New Zealand currently lie joint top in the series standings, four points clear of South Africa, with Samoa and England also within striking distance.

The other key match-up on day one in Adelaide sees joint leaders Fiji go head to head in Pool A with England, who are still to win a Cup title this season. Fiji head the seedings and top the group, which also promises physical battles against Canada and Tonga.

South Africa head Pool B where France, Kenya and Japan lie in wait, while third seeds New Zealand face Australia, a resurgent Wales and Hong Kong in Pool C.

The impressive Samoans, who won a first ever Cup success in Wellington, head pool D and will play opening day matches against Argentina, Scotland and Portugal.
